Below is a partial list of the services spouses or domestic partners may use. On January 1, 2005 the California Registered Partner Rights and Responibilities Act of 2003 took effect, and under the new law, you must register as domestic partners with the State of California Office of Secretary of State in order for any of the new rights or responsibilities to affect you. Call ahead to find out what’s required to verify your relationship to each of the units. If you’re interested in a particular department that’s not listed, just call their office and ask about partner privileges.
